About COLBAR Healthcare Solutions – School of Allied Health
Founded in 2010 as the Collins CNA Training Program, COLBAR Healthcare Solutions has grown into a trusted, state-approved school dedicated to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. What began as a single nurse aide training initiative has expanded into a comprehensive allied health division offering Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy Technician, and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) programs.
At COLBAR, education goes beyond the classroom. Our students gain practical experience through simulation labs, hands-on training, and supervised clinical rotations, ensuring they graduate with the skills, confidence, and compassion needed to thrive in today’s healthcare settings.

Program Director
Dr. Sherwonna Barron
Dr. Sherwonna Barron serves as the Program Director for COLBAR Healthcare Solutions – School of Allied Health. She is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with Full Practice Authority (FPA) in Illinois.
With over 20 years of clinical and leadership experience, Dr. Barron has worked across primary care, hospital medicine, long-term care, and behavioral health, as well as in academic instruction and program development. Her vision is to expand access to quality healthcare education and empower students to become confident, skilled professionals.
